Enhanced access

We provide enhanced access appointments to support patients who have difficulty accessing appointments during our traditional opening hours. We offer GP, AHP and practice nurse appointments as part of this service. We are open:

Please note, not all services are running during these hours and they are for pre-booked appointments only.

Medication team phone line

To make it easier for our patients to contact us about medication queries you can speak to a member of our medication team between the below hours:

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday 10am to midday

To access this service please contact us on our normal phone line, 01953 881247 and press option 1. This will take you through to our dedicated medication team who will be able to answer any of your medication related queries. Please note, if you select this line for reception queries, you will be asked to redial as we are unable to connect you to the reception team.

If you need help when we are closed

When the surgery is closed at weekends, evenings and public holidays, please call CallEEAST on 01603 481 278 or 111 if you require medical advice quickly, that is not an emergency.

NHS 111

In the case of an urgent medical problem when the practice is closed, you can call the NHS 111 service for advice and speak to a triage nurse. You will be assessed and advice given, or arrangements made to see a doctor.

When to use NHS 111

You should use the NHS 111 service if you urgently need medical help or advice, but it is not for life threatening situations.

Call 111 if

For less urgent health needs, contact your local pharmacist or the practice.

Out of hours services are generally busy, so please think carefully before asking to see a doctor and only do so if you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.

In a genuine emergency you should call 999. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute as an emergency.

Accessibility

There is access for disabled people to the surgery, which is all on one level. Our surgery has suitable access for disabled patients. All the patient areas including the waiting room, the consulting rooms and the toilets, have wheelchair access. A hearing loop is in place at the front reception desk. Please ask at reception if you require any assistant at all. There are designated disabled parking spaces in the car park. Patient toilets are located near the porch area.

Translation service

The practice is able to arrange for translation services for patients who do not speak English. This can be either on the phone, for example for booking appointments, or in person when seeing a doctor or nurse.

This service is expensive to provide, but is provided at no cost to the patient. It is however vital that patients keep their appointments when a translator has been booked. If a patient cannot speak English, it may not be possible for them to be seen before a translator can be organised.

Only if there is an extremely urgent medical need will a consultation be arranged without a translator.
